Moonlight Saké

A contemporary approach to saké.

This was a collaboration project between Norwich University of the Arts and Nagaoka Institute of Design. Seventy NID students and 30 Graphic Design and Graphic Communication students from NUA took part in the project, concluding with an exhibition at the Crypt Gallery in Norwich.

The idea for the Moonlight's logo was influenced by Liam Wong’s famous photography of the backstreets of Tokyo. Focusing on the perspective of the neon signage when looking down the streets.

Moonlight's bottle design is centred around the intentional blurring and clarity created through the use of frosted and clear glass. Giving an unobstructed view through to the Saké inside, and helping to create a strong sense of purity surrounding the new brand. This ideology is repeated throughout the brand’s identity to create coherence throughout all promotional material.

Aoki Takamasa x Moonlight Saké

I have used audio reactive visuals synced to Aoki Takamasa, a well known Japanese electronic artist’s, music in order to create this eye catching, contemporary promotional piece. I imagine this could be projected inside a Moonlight Saké nightclub or bar.
