The Boring Conference

‘A celebration of the mundane, the ordinary, the obvious and the overlooked; Subjects often considered trivial and pointless, but when examined more closely reveal themselves to be deeply fascinating’.

Playing on the ideas of ‘Boredom’ and ‘Curiosity’ - The infinitely looping loading wheel will trick viewers into believing the image has yet to load, and thus making them wait, increasing their level of boredom. However, once invested in the loading of the image the viewer will grow curious as to what the indistinguishable ‘unloaded’ images mean, and will have no other option than to go to the website to find out more.

Peter Fletcher recorded all his sneezes since 2007, then inputing them into a spreadsheet to record the time, date, location, strength, and what he was doing at the time. He takes the audience through the analytics, and his findings during the conference.

Nicholas Tuffnell has been collecting toilet roll serial numbers his whole life, which he then turns into poems which were read out at the Boring Conference.
